International Robotics Competition Sumo Challenge 2019 was recently held at the University of Technology (Politechnika Łódzka), Lodz, Republic of Poland.
Ukraine was represented by teams of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and Odesa National Polytechnic University. The team of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University consisted of Software Engineering students Oleh Rysniuk and Serhiy Khortiuk, engineering consultant Marian Fedirko, and the head of the department of Information Technology Mykola Kozlenko.
The team of the University participated in two categories. The Roborace category is a race of autonomous robots where several cars compete simultaneously at a track which configuration is unknown in advance. As a result of the competition, our team won the second-place prize. The TomTom Self-Driving Cars category means the competition of machines equipped with computer vision and artificial neural networks. In this category, our team won the prize for the best Fast and Safe car.
The winners of International Robotics Competition Sumo Challenge 2019 were awarded with sponsor prizes.
